Best known for the Ishikawa (Fishbone) diagram, Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa (1915-1989) was a key leader in the Total Quality Control movement. He called the Japanese approach Company Wide Quality Control (CWQC) and emphasized the involvement of workers as the key to success of a company. Quality Circles were an outgrowth of his work.
