Definition
Formal status review and decision-making meetings held at the end of each of a project’s five DMAIC phases. Sometimes called Stagegate Reviews.
The purpose of the tollgate review is to review the progress made on the project; ensure the project is receiving adequate management guidance, resources, and support; and decide if the project should continue, be placed in hibernation, or shut down.
Besides the Black Belt and Project Sponsor, executive leadership, Deployment Champions, stakeholders, and other interested parties should attend tollgate reviews.
