Definition

An acronym for Defects per Opportunity. It is calculated by dividing the actual number of Defects in a sample by the actual number of opportunities in the sample. Once the DPO is known, it can be converted into DPMO (Defects per Million Opportunities) in oder to obtain the sigma level for the process.
