Fitted Response Value

Go Back

Definition

The value of the response variable resulting from a given combination of factor levels, as predicted (fitted) by the chosen model. Also known as predicted response value. A scatterplot of the fitted values and observed values is used as a diagnostic to evaluate the goodness-of-fit of the model. The difference between the observed response and the fitted value is called the residual.
