An action or strategy that is the best known way of doing something, or that has been proved to produce the desired result consistently. Such actions and strategies can be documented to serve as Models for similar efforts throughout the organization or even across organizations. Best practices are generally based on company-wide experience and any benchmarking knowledge of competitive operations.
